Breaking Free from Diets, Calorie Counting, and Fasting Protocols

Summer is in the air! Which means bring on the "winter’s over, time to lose the fluff.” Time to jump on the wagon with a new, sexy, oh-so-promising diet plan..."

If you enjoy yo-yo dieting and you’re happy - then keep doing you! I am not here to tell you what you should/shouldn’t do.

BUT! And it’s a big but…

…if you’re sick of the constant lose weight/gain weight cycle, and you’re ready to achieve your ideal weight and maintain it - this is for you.

Before you jump on the next “Bikini Body Countdown,” here’s a gentle reminder:

…starting a new restrictive diet, cutting out food groups, doing hours of cardio to burn “extra calories off” and micromanaging your diet is not going to get you the results you want. 

I know, this isn’t what you want to hear. Before you throw me under the bus for going against mainstream diet culture, hear me out…

Sure, by dieting & excessively exercising, you may get you some quick wins, but not long term. And not sustainably. Which means that your weight loss is temporary and the weight will come back on, when you’re no longer able to maintain the intensity.

Here’s the thing: your body is too smart for unsustainable. 

Think about it: if it didn’t work last year, last month or last week, what makes this time any different? 

Nothing has changed; diet culture just keeps getting better at picking apart your insecurities while promising unrealistic expectations.

Underneath the false promises, what they’re really promoting is:

...restrictive, unsustainable diet protocols

...a false sense of control 

...instilling unnecessary food fear with “food rules”

...body shaming via promoting unsustainable expectations… 

To be clear: 

No, you’re not lacking willpower. 

No, you’re not struggling because you need more accountability.

And no, you didn’t “fall off the wagon” because you’re not disciplined enough… 

You fell off because you’re being triggered and you don’t understand by what, or how to stop this process.

So instead of a bandaid quick fix, what about getting to the root of what’s keeping you feeling stuck?
