“Don’t miss out on 95% of your life, just to weigh 5% less.”
Wise words I wish I had accepted a lot sooner in my health journey.
Iโve been having this conversation with friends, clients + new women in my community lately and I felt itโs time to bring shed some light on it.
โ๏ธ The conversation is around how easy it is to let a number on the scale determine whether you have a โgood dayโ or a โbad day.โ It literally is the preface for the day ahead.
Important considerations like cycle fluctuations, water retention, sodium, muscle growth etc. donโt matter. All the emphasis is one a single number which determines = success/failure.
Hereโs your permission to STOP that right now. A scale is a tool to monitor progress but, if it emotionally and mentally upsetting for you then itโs time to reassess.
*If youโre under Doctors orders, then continue following that. But if you believe some magical number that you used to weigh in High School is going to solve all your problems, hereโs some tough love:
โก๏ธ โก๏ธ โก๏ธ It’s time to check your PRIORITIES.
Shift the emphasis from a number to having a healthy body + mind as a whole.
Ask yourself: Why do you want this certain number?
What is so magical about this number?
How is the obsession affecting your life?
Other than reaching a certain (often unattainable) number, what needs to happen for you to change or shift this obsession?
Try journaling these thoughts out and see what comes up.
Remember: your health is a journey, not a destination. You can always shift your habits to support, promote + reflect the best version of you.
